Alan Berliner’s Audiofiles

So I’m combing through searches for “oral history”.. and get some stuff that’s interesting but not on topic for the other site. I’ll post ’em here. (Did you know that Colgate bought Tom’s of Maine? they did.. oral health and something something history. heh.)

Okay, this one is cool: AudioFile. Interactive sound art. (dated 1994; don’t know if it’s still viewable/hearable somewhere) 27 file drawers are labeled for 27 sounds. Open a drawer, hear the sound. Open more drawers and create a spontaneous sound collage. Click the Playing Audiofiles link (see orange paperclipped section top left) to watch a short movie showing the artist interacting with his Audio Files.
