Paso Robles Travel Notes

No posts for a while… Last week I was getting ready to leave, and so didn’t post. And then I left, and did not post. Have much to say on the wine country region of Paso Robles, including the Most! Amazing! B&B! at Asuncion Ridge, various wineries, a Zinfandel Port that is un-beeeelievably good, and a book we brought along to continue learning more of wine, and not for its other significance.

Windows on the World Complete Wine Course by Kevin Zraly, is the book that accompanies the wine course he teaches. He used to teach it at the restaurant, yes that restaurant at the top of one of the World Trade Center towers. The 2004 version’s dedication leads off to the families of those who perished in 9-11, and the book’s introduction recounts the author’s experience on the first anniversary of the attack.

We realized its memorial significance late on September 10th. It was a fitting way to remember and honor those who died on 9-11 while on a wine country trip.
