We arrived at Mojave airport at around 4:30am. Not much traffic. (nice!) It was chilly and there was a nice wind blowing.
A girl and her father took advantage of the wind (“we live in an area where there’s not much wind”) by flying a kite. It’s a streak in this picture. Bright streaky bit is, I think, Venus. I gotta admire that: Go out and fly a kite at 5:30 am.
People milling about as the eastern sky begins to lighten before dawn.
Sunrise is getting closer. I could just make out little pinkish rays of sunlight.
Overheard chitchat at Sunrise:
He: “Well, you know, it rises every morning like that.”
She: “So I am led to believe”
(I’m with She. I’m more likely to see the sun rise when I’m just going to bed than if I’m getting up early.)
Now that the sun is up, let the show begin!
